Nerva Primus is a Cane Corso of no club, heavy as old stone and softer than the posture suggests. On slow afternoons Nerva Primus sketches old human shapes on rooftops in chalk and lets the breeze make most of the decisions. Bakers slip Nerva Primus the fresher biscuits near the overgrown stadium rim and pretend they did not. Nerva Primus works toward the kind of evening where machines hum, friends are near, and nobody has to be brave.
